Kurt Vonnegut
Kurt Vonnegut has passed away. Like many, he was one of my favorites. I was introduced to him in high school English class and his writing stuck with me since. I remember in the late 90’s going to University of Chicago one evening in the summer when the trees were bushy and waving and standing in line to hear him talk. I was lucky enough to be early that time. I was 2nd or 3rd in line. He put everyone at ease and of course, made them laugh. They hooted and howled for him. He gave them a sheepish smile. I’m glad that he stuck around as many years as he did and gave us his take on life, showed us how messed up our view is on what it all means. The world really needed someone like him.
